1
Worship the Great Architect of the Universe.
2
Love your neighbor as yourself.
3
Do not do wrong to expect good.
4
The true worship given to the Great Architect is good works.
5
Do good for love of the same good.
6
Always keep your soul in a pure state to appear with dignity before your consciousness.
7
Love the good, have compassion for the weak, shun the wicked, yet hate no one.
8
Speak respectfully to your superiors, prudently to your equals, sincerely to your friends, and gently to the poor.
9
Do not deceive your brother, it is a betrayal; and if your brother flatters fears that corrupt you.
10
Always listen to the voice of your conscience.
11
Be a father to the poor. Every sigh torn from them by your hardness will fall back upon your head as a curse.
12
Respect the national or foreign travelers; help him, his person is sacred to you.
13
Avoid quarrels, insults expected, let reason always stay on your side.
14
Respect women. Never take advantage of their vulnerability, and sooner die than dishonor them.
15
If the Great Architect of the Universe gives you a son, give thanks—but tremble at the sacred trust placed in you, for you shall henceforth be, for that child, an image of the Divine. Let him fear you until he is ten; love you until twenty; and honor you until death. Until ten, be his teacher; until twenty, his father; and until death, his friend. Teach him sound principles before fine manners; let him owe you a clear doctrine rather than frivolous polish. Better an honorable man than merely a clever one.
16
Read and profit, sees and mimics, think and always give attention to the good of your brothers and will work for yourself.
17
Be content all, by all and everything.
18
Do not judge lightly the actions of men, not less reproaches and blades; While prior attempts to probe hearts to appreciate his works.
